Arriva Madrid was born from the entrepreneurial spirit of two families; Gregorio De Blas and Isidro Gómez who, after the end of the civil war, began to provide transport services between Madrid and Navalcarnero through Cuatro Vientos.
After going through several different locations, in 1987 they settled their company address in a continuously growing Industrial Estate located in Alcorcón. However, the growing demand for transport services made it necessary for the company to adopt a multi-seat concept. There are currently 25 different inter-city routes provided by 190 buses that make departures from several base-points, among which are: Alcorcón, San José de Valderas, Móstoles, Fuenlabrada, Navalcarnero, Madrid-Norte, and Villaviciosa de Odón.
This continuous growth has allowed Arriva Madrid to consolidate its leadership within inter-city road transport in the region of Madrid and cater to over 44,000,000 passengers in 2001.
All this was made possible thanks to a set of highly qualified human, technical and material resources, and a continuous technological innovation. This allows Arriva Madrid to offer top quality in all its services.
This enviable position however is no reason for the General Board of Shareholders to not continue working together and strive towards a continuous and daily improvement of the service provided to the public.

Environmental Management Audit System
Regulation n. 1221/2009, known by its acronym in English EMAS (Environmental Management Audit Scheme), is a system that allows organizations to join, on a voluntary basis, a community management system and environmental audits.
In this voluntary way, our company, Empresa de Blas y Cia, decided to implement this system when considering their environmental commitment to society. Thus, a series of action criteria have been defined in order to ensure the protection of the environment in the development of our activities. Protection principles have been established and an environmental management system has been developed and implemented in accordance with the UNE-EN-ISO 14001 standard.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the creation of the European Union's environmental management and auditing system, the well-known EMAS system, the European Commission has delivered to us last February 2015 a Commemorative Certificate where we are recognized as one of the organizations that have been adhering to EMAS systems for more than 10 years.
Empresa de Blas y Cía assumes quality assurance as a management commitment of the entire organization and of each of its members in its area of responsibility, as a guarantee of compliance with our internal Quality requirements and commitments acquired against our customers. This is the objective, to get everyone to carry out our work under an orderly system according to established procedures, which should lead us to a better functioning and to achieve the set objectives.
The certified quality management system evidences the improvement achieved in the integration of key processes of the organization, as well as the correct monitoring, measurement and analysis of each of them.
The certified environmental management system contributes to achieving the objectives of the "Destination Green" initiative of the Arriva Group, such as reducing the use of fuels, reducing emissions, reducing water and energy consumption, and as the minimization of waste generation.
It should be noted as an important point, that we are the first interurban transport company in Spain to certify us with ISO 14001, this recognition has been achieved by joining forces among all those who compose the company, in order to constantly improve.

The SGE21 Standard
The UNE EN 13816 standard is a certifiable norm specific to organizations dedicated to land passenger transport that measures the level of quality of service offered by a company. In addition, we are certified in this standard according to the criteria of the CRTM Quality Plan.
Blas y Cía, presents its Service Charter annually. This Charter is the document that constitutes the instrument through which we inform our users about the services we perform, about their rights and about the quality commitments that we acquire and commit ourselves to comply with.
Continuing with the company's commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, we have obtained this certificate with ENAC accreditation taking another step. OHSAS 18001 is an internationally accepted specification that defines the requirements for the establishment, implementation and operation of an effective Occupational Health and Safety Management System for companies, their facilities and their workers.
This certification proves that Arriva Madrid is a company committed to the Health and Safety of its employees and represents recognition of the effort that has been made over the years in this area reaffirming an integration of the system into the company.
Registry in the Carbon Footprint Register of MAGRAMA (Ministry for Agriculture, Food and Environment)
Arriva DBlas has performed the registration of its calculation of its carbon footprint in section a) of Carbon Footprint and commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the Carbon Footprint Registry, compensation and CO2 absorption projects of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment thus obtaining the certifications corresponding to the calculations for the years 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
